The following table provides a summary of the
vessels used by the Canadian Hydrographic Service fleet from 1883 to the
present. It is not exhaustive but contains all data currently available.
Names that are underlined provide a link to a photo and more information.
If
you have anything to add or a photo to share, feel free to
contact us with your information.
With the establishment of the Marine Sciences
Branch on 1 April 1962 all of the Branch ships have been re-designated by the
prefix "C.S.S.". This represents their functions of Canadian Survey Ships and/or
Canadian Scientific Ships, as appropriate.
